Biography

Kenneth Paul Mac Neil (known as Kenney) was born In Iona, Nova Scotia. in 1917. His father, Michael K Mac Neil died in 1919 of tuberculosis, and his mother Flora MacKinnon was left to raise three young children. She managed to get by selling woven blankets, hiring herself out to help neighbours with chores, and eventually keeping house for the parish priest. The 1931 Census shows Kenney (spelled Kennith in the Census) as a 13 year old student living in the household of his widowed mother, Flora (Florence in the Census).

When Father A. J. MacDonald was transferred from Iona to St. Frances de Sales parish in Lower River Inhabitants, Kenney went with him to help out around the house. In Lower River he met Eileen McCarthy, and they were married on October 4th, 1948. They were the parents of the profile creator.

Kenneth died of cancer at Victoria General Hospital in 1989. He was buried at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery, Lower River Inhabitants, Nova Scotia.
